Community Engagement Sessions
Everyone in the community is invited to attend the SJSD PACT meetings. During these sessions participants have the opportunity to learn about, and provide feedback on, key challenges and opportunities facing SJSD. Participants will work together at each meeting to come to consensus on key issues impacting the future of the District. You are invited to participate in PACT—a community-wide effort to develop a long-range plan for our school district. It is difficult to imagine a more important goal for our community and for our children. PACT—PLANNING ACOURSE TOGETHER—is the name we have given this planning process to reflect the spirit of making a pact with each other to work together to improve our schools. It is vitally important for all of us to attend. Only with diverse and informed voices can we develop an effective plan for our district. There is an old proverb that says, “None of us is as smart as all of us”—that is the philosophy that drives this program. This is the first of a series of “roll-up-our-sleeves” workshop sessions. To make it convenient for everyone to participate each workshop will be offered twice (Tuesday evening and Saturday morning) in different locations. One of the toughest decisions facing the leadership of PACT was selecting a location for our meetings. After much debate and discussion, it was decided that developing a long-range plan for our District must involve familiarity with all portions of the District—north, central and south. Here are the dates for our first “getting started” PACT meetings. |
